Cybersecurity, taught in public.

I teach offensive security at 3 San Diego institutions — 17 courses across current and past appointments, from a first introduction to security through red teaming and applied cryptography.

I teach in the evening and practice during the day. That is deliberate: the material comes out of work I am currently doing rather than a syllabus written years ago, and evening classes fit students who already have jobs. Most of what appears in the guides on this site started as an explanation I gave in a classroom.

I lecture in the master's programs, in person and online, and advise capstone and research students who have finished their coursework. This is the appointment I use publicly and the one newsrooms cite.
